Prospecting is the act of exploring, searching, surveying or examining with the intention of choosing or procuring the best. A person or company intending to purchase insurance covers must prospect for the best available in the market that meet its needs. The policies to be bought must meet certain core criteria and within the prescribed budget.
In buying insurance for whatever purpose, always do your prospecting. This ‘pre-auditing’ task is a vetting process every prudent insurance buyer must undertake. As such when purchasing insurance; be it health insurance, life insurance, auto insurance or car insurance, be sure you read the fine print and caveats. Make sure you are aware of what you are buying exactly so that issues will not arise when claims are made. Once you have made your decision on the policy you want, discuss any terms in the application forms that are unclear to clear your doubts. Discuss payment terms. There is a difference in premium payments if payments are made annually as compared to making monthly payments. You can pay all the premiums with your credit cards or through standing instructions with your bank. For those buying online, fill in the forms and directly pay by credit card. |
